Hello, friends!
It’s been a minute. I hope you are all taking care during these turbulent times. My wife and I have been getting all of our legal documents in an attempt to insulate our family from changes incoming with the second Trump administration.
I know things are bleak right now and I’ve found myself turning more and more to holiday romances, so I decided to put mine on sale!
Get Checking It Twice for just $0.99!
And don’t forget to grab the FREE bonus novella A Little Bit Alexis.
I thought I’d end by kicking out a few suggestions of things I’ve enjoyed lately.
The Valentine episode of the podcast This is Love. In general, I’m a big fan of the work of Phoebe Judge and Lauren Spohrer. This episode chronicles the passing of Phoebe’s mother. It’s beautiful and sad so please take care if you decide to listen.
Bodkin is a show on Netflix that follows a podcaster and a serious journalist looking into the disappearance of people on Samhain in a town called Bodkin in Ireland. It features a messy and grumpy female lead, which is my catnip. I also like how it examines true crime podcast culture and its impacts on those touched by the investigation.
The NA Sapphic Thanksgiving romance I’ll Get Back to You by Becca Grischow. This was a cute coming-of-age story set near Chicago and being a Michigan girl myself, I loved the midwest vibes.
The Thursday Murder Club Series by Richard Osman. These books are such a delight and honestly so funny. The friendship between the four main characters living in a retirement community is just perfect.
Because I’m in the holiday spirit this year I’d love any holiday book recommendations you have!
LOL (lots of love),
Lucy
I shall be re-reading Checking it twice this holiday season it’s a favourite for sure.
Richard Osman does a terrific podcast with Marina Hyde called ‘The rest is entertainment’ they’re brilliant together and I’ve long admired Marina’s writing. Also can’t wait to see the film adaptation of Thursday night Murder club, mostly
because HELEN MIRREN!
Thank you, Lucy!
